Ouch...ouch...ouch

After 2 days of "adventures" with the kids, I am sore and stiff. Two days of walking, climbing and running after them has been fun but I feel every single muscle screaming today. Thankfully, today's adventure involves a movie theatre and sitting down. It is suppose to rain for the rest of the week so the rest of our adventures are going to have to be indoors.

Last night, I finally managed to finish Tania's circle journal LO's. Her theme was 25 random things about ourselves. I can't believe how hard it was to come up with 25 random things. Every time I thought of something, it lead to something else and the journalling didn't feel like it was random anymore. I finally just gave up and this is what I ended up completing:

I am late on these...very late. I have to incorporate a run to the post office sometime either today or tomorrow.

Vacation Time!!!

Well I am officially on vacation...hurrah!! A whole week without having to go to work. A whole week to scrap and relax....NOT. I wish. Nope this week is going to be keeping my kids occupied since my daycare provider is on vacation too. I am certainly not begruding her the time off. She has certainly earned it with my two monkeys but I can pretty much guarantee that my scrap supplies will not see the light of day next week.

I guess I can't really complain. I have a whole week of day trips planned to keep them entertained and to provide me with photo opportunities. Hee..hee...more photos to scrap.

I did manage to get a chance to make a card last night. This one is for my mother's birthday in August. I scored the new Spellbinder's pendant dies the other day and I have been dying to use them.

Materials used: Bazzill cardstock, Prism Simply Smooth cardstock, Copic Markers, Memento ink, Distress ink, Spica markers, Spellbinder pendant dies, Stamping Barn stamp and Picture Embossing stencil.

A new addiction...

I have become addicted to Twitter. I can't believe how much time I am spending on little bits of nonsense but it is actually fun. I don't tweet much myself. I don't think that I am that interesting but then I am fascinated by other people's mundane stuff so who knows. It is amazing how many people and companies are jumping on the Twitter bandwagon. I have been following lots of CHA sneak peeks through tweets.

Now on to something more craft related....I was able to get my hands on some PTI stamps. Lovely Bonnie brought them with her when she came to ScrapFest and I was able to save a bundle on the shipping. Their shipping to Canada is just outrageous. I don't think I would have gotten them otherwise.

I just love this damask set:

Materials used: Bazzill cs, white embossing powder, misc. ribbon and Spellbinder dies.

They are beautifully designed stamps and their packaging is lovely...it is too bad that I ended up recycling it. I find the CD cases to be too bulky for my limited space. The stamps ended up in my 3 ring binder storage instead.

This card was completed for a card challenge at Paper Passions for their first on-line crop. They have the absolute best prices that I have seen for Spellbinder dies in Canada.

Playing with Copics

I am really starting to love my Copic markers. Now that I have started to get the hang of them I really like the brightly coloured saturated look that I am getting. I still love working with the Tombows but what I love about the Copics is that I get that blended effect by just colouring with the different hues of the same colour. With the Tombows I have to dig out my water and paintbrushes.

Jenn at The Scrapbox gave me two sheets of the Prima Satin Smooth paper that has become known as "the Copic paper". She wanted me to give it a try and let her know what I thought. The only condition was that I made a demo card for the store.

I have been using Manga paper from my art store. The Prima paper blows the Manga paper out of the water. Wow...wow...wow...I am impressed. Here is the card that I made for Jenn. Lets just say this is the second attempt...the first attempt, I made the mistake of using a stamp that she doesn't carry in her store. Oops....

Materials used: Prima cardstock, Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey pattern paper, Great Impressions stamp, Stickles, Copic makers, Spellbinder Nestabilities.

I just realized that I never posted the circle journal layout that I mentioned I was struggling with. The whole idea of journalling about what I see in the mirror was a struggle for me. I started off doing something along the lines of dissecting my face into the parts of me that came from various family members. I really did not like where that was going.

So, I went the "Brown Bear" route instead:

Week #5 Scrappin' With The Oldies

Well this was suppose to be the last week of this challenge but everyone is enjoying using their stash and rediscovering all the things they have....so, it has been extended but for how long no one really knows yet.

This week's challenge was to use Cosmo Cricket pattern paper, Tim Holtz grungeboard, and Basic Grey rub ons. The mystery item was Fancy Pants stamps. This was not a hard one for me it was just a matter of choosing what went together well. I have come to realize that I have way too much stuff. I haven't missed a single item yet.

Materials used: Cosmo Cricket pp, Bazzill cs, Glimmer mist, Tim Holtz mask, Fancy Pants stamp, Versa Ink, Crackle Paint, Distress Ink, Gelly Gems, My Little Bicycle gems, Basic Grey Rubons, pop dots.

Heather has been doing quite a few layouts with Glimmer Mists and masks lately. I really have been liking the effect. I decided that I had to give it a try as well. I really need to play more with Glimmer Mist.

Today is Canada Day so I will say Happy Canada Day! We spent the day with the kiddies at the park. They played in the water, went on Midway rides, jumped in the bouncy castle, got pink and blue tongues from snow cones, and finally, got soaking wet on the walk back to the car. All and all a very good day.
